You might want to indicate that, in regard to FDIC, all deposits at FDIC insured institutions are insured to *at least* $100,000. That is the *minimum* FDIC will insure, given that all requirement are met for that specific titling type. FDIC will insure your deposits for more as long as you meet their requirements. 95% of bank employees do not fully comprehend how much or little FDIC covers, but I have clients who have over a million dollars at my institution that is all FDIC insured. For specific answers to your exact financial situation, contact FDIC at 1-877-275-3342 or www.fdic.gov/deposit/deposits. You can order free DVD's or CD-ROM's on FDIC at www2.fdic.gov/depositinsuranceregister

I think your NBA arena sponsors list is missing one: The home of the Seattle SuperSonics is Key Arena, sponsored by Key Bank.

In addition, we actually have a college basketball venue sponsored by a financial institution: Bank of America Area at Hec Edmonson Pavilion, home of the University of Washington Huskies (I know it's not one of your listed categories, but I don't know how common it is to have commercial sponsorship of college venues).

A minor correction: Pengrowth, in Calgary isn't really a financial institution. They are a Oil and Gas income trust - in operation they are very similar to a typicall Energy Company. However I can add a stadium to the NHL list - RBC Centre (Carolina Hurricanes)

Great bank trivia!

Hamilton is a favorite of mine. His story is simply amazing. From poor on his own on the streets in St Croix, he nearly singlehandedly invented our current banking system.

Thanks for the post!

I noted the following typo:

"The first chartered bank of the United States was the First Bank of the United States, formed in 1971 by The United States Congress."

It appears you transposed the 7 and 9. No worries, just wanted to let you know. I do it all the time, myself, and the only reason I noticed it here is that 1971 seemed too late of a date to start the first chartered bank. :)
