Do not use code CKSL - use code CS2C!!! You will have to call and close the accounts and open new ones if you use the first code. It IS for the Ultimate Savings Account only!

there are several ongoing citi promotions. be sure the get the correct one. I used CS2C promo, which gives me $50 for e-savings plus regular checking. I think there are two other promotion codes for the same deal; however, there are other $50 promos that require ezchecking or ultimate savings which have other stipulations.

At least for the CS2C promo, there is no min requirement in either e-savings or regular. the only thing you need is to have opened both at the same time and maintain the account for 6 months. if you do not maintain both accounts for 6 months, then you incur an early closure fee. you do not need direct deposit or min for the CS2C promo

The above info appears to be misleading -- has anyone else tried it?

In trying to set this up Citibank is telling me that the $50 credit from promotion code CSKL is for an "Ultimate Savings" account (i.e., not the e-Savings and/or EZ Checking account mentioned above).

(They tell me that that there is no minimum initial deposit, minimum balance nor fees for this "Ultimate Savings" account. 4.55% interest, 4.65% APY. 6 transactions per month allowed.)

They also tell me that the $50 credit is only for new, first-time account holders. So if you were to sign up for the e-Savings and EZ Checking accounts as described above, you technically would not be considered a new, first-time customer and technically would not be eligible for the $50 credit!

(Nonetheless, they cancelled for me the e-Savings and EZ Checking accounts I set up this morning in order to consider me as a new Ultimate Savings account-holder, and get me the $50 credit.)

The credit won’t take effect for ~90 days.

We’ll see how this turns out…..
