6 of 10 “Hottest” Cars are Toyota’s
You thought domestic car manufacturers were in trouble before? CNNMoney and Edmunds got together looked at the average discount (selling price versus full sticker price) lowest amounts of rebates, and shortest time on the lot to make the list. Of the ten, six are Toyota’s (Prius was #1, all three Scions were on there too). Three are hybrids (Prius, Lexus RX400h, and Ford Escape Hybrid).
The Prius only spends nine days on the lot (Mini Cooper’s are on the lots the shortest, six days) before being purchased.
Here’s the list:
1. Toyota Prius - $23,506, $71 in incentives, sells for $2,206 over sticker in 9 days.
2. Mini Cooper - $26,403, $103 in incentives, sells for $103 off sticker in 6 days.

Heh, I’ve never seen a MINI Cooper stay on the lot for more than six hours! Mine took three months to go from order to construction to shipping to arrival, and that was fast! Some people (particularly on the U.S. west coast) have to wait 6-10 months from the day they order for theirs to arrive.
Just where, I wonder, do Priuses stay on the lot for 9 days? ‘Round here, every one that arrives at a dealer has an owner waiting to pick it up off the truck.
Well Scion TCs usually sell every 5 or 6 days from the dealer. I always see new ones when i pass the dealer in my TC!!
