I actually sold my old Nintendo for over $100 a few months ago. I didn't know the demand for these old systems was so high. Wow, I never knew old credit cards were selling for anything. It just shows you that people will buy anything.

My in-laws have this scary storage area underneath their house where they keep EVERYTHING they've ever owned. They have so much stuff, particularly left over from their stint as young parents. So my husband's old baby clothes and toys are still around. They won't get rid of it, but I wish they did... some things still hold some monetary value but the sentiments they have for these things overrule their cash value.

Reading Pete's comment reminded me that I also sold an old game system awhile ago. My SEGA Game Gear handheld w/ games, carrying bag and other accessories. I still have my old SEGA Mega Drive and various games laying around... dont think it's worth the trouble selling it. Maybe I'll keep it for my kid in the future and play the first Mortal Kombat with him.

The failed companies schwag are kind of funny.. didn't think there will be a market for those items.

Can't say much about used underwear. Got a bit curious, did a quick Google and quickly regretted it.

Number 5 was something I did recently - except it was an old Dreamcast video game system - not a Nintendo.

I wanted to get a new Xbox 360, so I decided to sell my old gaming system. Much to my surprise my old Dreamcast sold for $150 with all the games, controllers, etc. I got way more for it than I ever thought I would.

Sometimes it pays to just give it a shot and put it on ebay - even if you don't think you'll get much for it. You may be surprised!
