daemondust does deserve his opinion whether we agree or not. I am an Army wife an could careless whether he agrees with this incentive or not. What I find quite sad is the anger this individual has towards people who serve our country. I do however agree with his point about policemen and firefighters getting the tax credit as well. The only difference I can see is when I began to look for a house, I did this on my own while my husband was overseas for one year.
Make no mistake though I never feel anything but pride that my husband serves his country, and he never expects accolades for what he does. He serves because he wants to. Our family pays their taxes and will accept any incentive that will help us along the way, as most people do.

I AM A SERGEANT CURRENTLY IN IRAQ. I AM IN THE NATIONAL GUARD AND WAS ACTIVATED MID FEBRUARY. I WILL RETURN TO THE STATES LATE JAN 2011 OR EARLY FEB 2011. Deamondust, you keep saying that military chose their jobs, well yes they did. However what would happen if they handn’t? If nobody joined the military? I can tell you what would happen. The draft would be reinstated and your arse would be forced to join, so be thankful that these men and women had the guts to do what you didn’t want to(which be thankful is your choice) Many countries require you to join the military right after highschool(as in S. Korea). As far as what safety has the military brought you?? Think about it this way, without a military do you think for a moment we would be America? Do you think someone else wouldn’t waltz their troops in and take over.

Daemondust, you are a Moron, and you shouldn’t be in this country, go somewhere else and live there, and don’t come back, because you don’t appreciate what we do in the military, because you think the freedom and democracy you have in America came for free? One good advice for you, remember every day you and your loved ones and your friends go to bed feeling safe because the Military are defending your democracy and protecting your freedom. If you don’t appreciate that then go to another country where you and your loved ones are invaded in their homes at night, and slaughtered like pigs! and see if you will like that!

if you think 6 month is enough for us to find a house, you are wrong. even if we’re here in homeland, most of us works long hours. from 6am to 6pm everyday specially us navy that are attached to the ship. working hours is even worst when we have to prepare our ship for big inspections, certifications and deployment to make sure our ship is ready for battle when we deploy. We have to work from 4am to 8pm everyday just to ensure that our ship is ready to defend your freedom. you don’t know anything about military. Just do your research first before you start talkin shit about us. so to make it clear, even we’re not deployed, we still have to work long hrs and do not have enough time to take care of our personal stuffs. dont even have time to get a life…. we’re sacrificing anything we have and i think that we deserve a respect because we are protecting you and your generation..
jsut to let you know, we also pays state and federal taxes even if we’re outside the country..

The biggest question I have about the whole Home Buyer credit is about repayment. I have heard there are stipulations you have to follow or you have to give the money back to the government like if you sell the house sooner then three years. Well, since I am in the Army, I have to do thier bidding whenever they have a whim. What if I come down on orders and I have to move before the three years? Do I get penalized for serving my country and doing wht they tell me to do?
