They make a TON of purchases on Amazon, for far more things than just books. It's very worth it to them, they've said it paid for itself just on their Christmas shopping. Me, I only buy stuff from Amazon every other month or so. When I do it, it's usually over $25, so I get the free shipping anyway. A lot of times the super saver shipping comes sooner than the estimated time anyway, so I don't mind waiting. I have some friends who love their Amazon Prime. I purchase a significant amount of everyday items from Amazon. I can pretty much add any small Amazon item and have it shipped via 2 day UPS, without thinking twice about a $25 total purchase.
