American Express My Wishlist Starting December 1st

American Express sent me a postcard the other day notifying me that they are running the My Wishlist promotion again in 2008 and once again the gifts are pretty incredible… the top prize is a 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK350, a luxury sports SUV that might not exactly please too many people. I know that it’s not as appealing as prior years, but it sports some pretty nice specs. But an SUV? After a year of ridiculously high gas prices? Hmmm…

Here are some of the other “prizes” available:

  • 42″ Sharp Aquos Full HD 1080p LCD TV for $700 (December 2nd)
  • Dell Studio Laptop for $499 (December 8th)
  • A Dream Dining Experience with Gordon Ramsay – The London NYC Package for $2,500 (December 9th)

Need an American Express card? There are a couple on this 0% credit card list (cards that offer 0% on purchases or balance transfers) but you’ll have to act fast, My Wishlist has already started!

It’s a great way for Amex to test their site. Also, some people probably even signed up their card just trying to get the prize.

ROTFLMAO!! Some of you people made my day with your comments! Things like, “mywishlist broke my spirit” and “someone had a bunch of homeless people working for him.” PRICELESS!
I admit I get disgruntled when I try and don’t win, but hey, it’s just a game. I *did* actually get an Amazon coupon once. Prolly not worth the 2 hours I spent trying to get one but…whatever, it’s just a GAME…kinda like that multi-tiered coin drop thing where the sliding ledge pushes the coins forward. If you look really hard, you realize the laws of science and gravity are against you, but hey, it harmlessly passes the time and human nature always HOPES to win! What’s wrong with that? No one’s getting hurt (just their spirits broken LOL!), so just sit back and enjoy the ride!

I won a hot item, two certificates and one item more.

  4. CS says:

This is not a scam. I won the 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP from the June 2007 My Wishlist. AMEX was very nice about the whole thing and gave me an extra $10,000 to cover the taxes. I am in no way affiliated with AMEX but will now be a cardholder for the rest of my life!

  5. Anthony says:

so for all of you that says it is a scam, if amex lists only “50 prizes” available, if you are not one of the 50 who wins, then it is a scam? but if you win, then I assume you will not call this a scam?

You would have a better chance if play lottery than Amex Wishlist. What a scam!

  7. yelobone says:

AX is a sham…F them..Pay them off and get a decent credible card..

you are all idiots. i did not win either, but do you realize that if even 100 people (there’s surely tons more) all click at the exact same time on a button, when there’s only FIVE prizes available, that 95 people will not win? is this really a difficult concept to comprehend? common sense is a dying trait it seems.

  9. Elk says:

This is a total scam; I try this everyday and wait until the clock hits 0 and magically, the items are on hold each and everytime.

This is a total scam and waste of time.

This follows the old cliche: if it’s too good to be true, then it is!

Don’t waste your time on this garbage promotion (not really a promotion – cause you won’t win anything here).

You’ll have a better luck winning the lottery!

  10. yogi says:

I won twice in 6 attempts , that’s great ! I love amex ! how about their extra warranty and great customer service ; it rocks

  11. Foo Foo says:

I too tried numerous attempts without success – seems to me a bit of a scam also

  12. Alabukm says:

Well, seems like the ones who aren’t getting anything are the complainers. Amex has had this every Christmas season for the past 6+ years. And, over the past 6+ years, I have won (bought) several items.

I got a designer purse, golf club, and an expresso machine. They were delivered to my house like a charm! Program works… end of story.

For those of you who are complaining, realize not everyone wins or quit playing. It’ll make wining those prizes easier for me =D

  13. Anand says:

I was able to win the dailywish item today
Canon Rebel T1i camera from TigerDirect for $499.
I tried to click from 2 computers and one was able to get me to the tigerdirect website. Added the item to my cart and completed the checkout. Got the order confirmation email as well. Here’s the best part. For some strange reason, tigerdirect kept showing me the camera for the same price $499, even though from another computer the price is $699. So I placed 2 more orders for the same camera at 499 for 2 of my friends (who couldn’t get in through Amex network). I’m a happy camper today 🙂

  14. steve says:

finally someone has got it today. I just weasted my time.

  15. Anand says:

Tigerdirect still shows me the 499 price 🙂

    Item Number: C930-1658
    Model: 3818B002
Availability: In Stock, Usually Ships Within 24 Hours

    List Price: $799.99
    Instant Savings: – $300.99

My father and I have both won in the past. You just have to keep trying.

To Anand, you got the only item I REALLY wanted this year. Thanks for letting us know that it was still on sale. However, I missed it and it is now $699. Thanks for sharing the info though and congratulations for your win!

  16. Dave K says:

Hey, I won the Acer AOD netbook on TigerDirect today. I wanted the Asus one more, but than one was filled up. So, I quickly clicked on the Acer netbook and got the deal. So, this can work, it’s just that there are probably a million other people out there clicking at the same time.

  17. david says:

Sore losers! you dont always win grow up and plus if someone charges 300k on theier card i doubt they would waste their time playin this game.

  18. Tom says:

Typed at second it opened with wife and son on three computers for two different deals…Best Buy and Amazon….no luck whatsoever…that’s it for me….I’ll unsubscribe….sucks…..bad advertising for Amex, Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart.

  19. Heather says:

Ya’ll really are a bunch of sore losers. You didn’t win…so what! Others did (like me). Do you always pout when you don’t get your way or lose??? Losers!

  20. grace says:

the american express daily wish is a scam. i tried it twice and it was a waste of time. american express has lost a customer

  21. MGM says:

i agree can’t be a sore complainer but how about mentioning the #of the bidder; i’m sure at the end of the day; each bidder is ranked on the arrival request bid time. It gives some better transparency than arbitarily stating that someone did get it though the person might have clicked right at the 0th second.

  22. GALAVANTOR says:

If this is a legit promotion then some people would need to win. From the postings above it appears as if some people do win. That’s good news. It would be nice for AMEX to show a diminishing counter as the offers are claimed so you know how many are left. As long as real independent third parties, un-affiliated with AMEX are successful getting the offers I will continue trying. Those of you that have won please give us your story.

  23. me says:

AMEX wishlist is definitely a scam. Wonder why AMEX still continue to run it?

  24. Parag says:

If not scam then total waste of time!
I better spend that time analyzing some stocks 🙂

  25. Lisa says:

It’s not a scam! I won as did a fellow coworker of mine. I won the ability to purchase a Wii for $119 from CompUSA. I received it within 7 days of my purchase because I opted to do the free vs. rush shipping. My coworker and her husband (using different cards) actually both won the $100 cash back off of $200 for target. There are tricks to getting in fast and we are working from high speed internet connections. Hope you guys don’t try so I can win more!
