I’m not sure where I saw it first but there’s a site out there called Scripophily.com ^[3] where you can buy old stock certificates, bonds, and other financial documents for display. Even if you’re not buying anything, it’s fun to look at the pictures of the certificates to remember a time when not everything was electronic, held in street name, and out of sight.

If you’re looking for the certificates of actively traded companies, companies like OneShare.com ^[4] deals in those but I don’t find active company certificates as interesting as the older historical certificates. To each their own!
