It seems every summer TradeKing runs a promotion where you can get $50 for opening a new account (if you didn’t have one already). Well if you didn’t notice it based on the temperatures outside, it’s summer and TradeKing has brought back their $50 new account promotion this month. If you have $2,500, want a TradeKing account, then this promotion is right up your alley.

The promo is pretty straight-forward. Make a deposit of $2,500 or more within 30 days of opening the account and make one trade within 180 days of opening the account. The $2,500 you deposit has to remain in the account for at least 6 months or you surrender the credit (they say you “may” surrender the credit, so it’s unclear how closely they police this).

I’ve written about Everbank in the past because of their high rates and their unique CDs, especially the market-safe CDs. They’ve consistently been among the best rates on any listing of high yield savings accounts and I’ve been using them for quite some time.

As far as I can recall, this is the first time they’ve offered a deposit bonus for as long as I’ve known they existed.

Chase has been offering $100 bonuses for new checking accounts every month like clockwork. If you need a Chase checking account, there’s no reason why you wouldn’t take advantage of free money. A bank deal doesn’t get any easier than this one!

As usual, the requirements for this offer are the same – open a Chase checking account with at least $100 of new money and setup a direct deposit or make 5 debit purchases within 60 days. Most banks will usually require you to do both (setup direct deposit and make 5 debit purchases) in order to receive a bonus but Chase doesn’t, completing either will be sufficient. The only “negative” about this deal is that you must open an account at a branch.

Reward checking accounts have grown in popularity as everyone is looking for a way to earn a little extra cash as safely as possible. Here’s a refresher on how they work – You earn a higher rate of interest if you make a minimum number of debit cards per statement period (usually 10+) and opt for paperless statements and online banking. If you don’t meet their requirements, you don’t get the higher interest rate.

I haven’t been sharing many of these offers because they’re all the same, except this latest offering from South Shore Savings Bank. Not only can you get a 3.69% APY on deposits up to $25,000 but you can also get a $200 bonus just for opening an account. There is no special account requirements for the bonus.

Sometimes I wonder if KeyBank has some sort of deal with Apple because they love giving away iPod nanos and iPod touches as new account bonus promotions. This time, it’s an iPod touch for their Key Express Free Checking and Key Advantage Money Market Checking accounts. If you fancy a Key Privilege Checking or Key Privilege Select Checking account, you get both an iPod touch and a $25 iTunes gift card for your troubles.

The offer is pretty straightforward, open a bank account online through this link, fund it with at least $125 in 30 days and you’ll receive $75 in 90 days.

There is no direct deposit or check card purchase requirements. The account has no monthly maintenance fee, no minimum balance, and offers no interest. You must be a new checking account customer and the limit is one $75 incentive bonus per 6 months. No expiration date given.

Some brokers offer you free cash to transfer your brokerage to them, E*Trade is just offering up 500 free trades. You can see the offer on this page, where they explain you can trade free for 60 days if you open a new Power E*Trade Account with at least $2,000. The offer is for 500 free trades in stock or options trades made within the first 60 days of the funds clearing and accounts must be funded within 60 days of account opening. Afterwards, you pay regular commissions.

How valuable are 500 trades? Well if you use them all, the rate is $9.99 for the first 149, then $7.99 for the rest for a grand total of $4,293 saved. If you make 500 trades in 60 days, this is a screaming hot deal. If you don’t, as I suspect most people don’t, this offer is only as good as often as you think you’ll use it.
