I realized I hadn't patted myself on the back in years--for anything!--and it struck me as strange and sad at the same time. I resolved to do things differently. I'm trying to learn Italian by using the Pimsleur tapes, and I've been rewarding myself in various ways whenever I finish a batch of lessons. I completely agree.
