As I posted elsewhere, there are other discount brokers that are better bargains than those listed above.

Lightspeed has a clunky website, but you can get $1 a trade without additional fees;
eOption charges $3 for equities and offers the best value for options;
Just2Trade has a pretty plain platform, but only charges $2.50 for equities without additional fees;
Finally, SoGoTrade has a price similar to eOption: it charges $3 for equities.

awesomee. i do the same. but, dont you think there is a downside of not having the pre-market and the post-market trading on sogo trade? i want to really trade, but am looking for pre-post market + lower rates. about $3. you think its possible?

also, consider sogotrade which offers $3 trades (unlimited shares) and pretty good customer service and trading platform. downsides would be barebones research tools and no mutual funds (although options and ETFs are available). No maintenance fees are also a plus. i actually trade on this site but do my research at TD Ameritrade (much better research site).
