The only drawback is that they don't always fit into the lamp globes you have because they're sort of squarish in shape. Keep that in mind and you can use yours well if you plan out your overhead lamp purchases properly. In 2 years, I haven't ever had to replace the one in my walk-in closet! (It's the kind where you walk all the way through to the bathroom, so it stays on a lot longer than a normal closet light. It's the dressing area, place to sort laundry, vanity, etc. Ok, I admit it, I use it as my bedroom and live there! Just kidding.) I love my CF bulbs.
