Double check because more than 84,000 taxpayers didn’t to the tune of $73M dollars, reports CNN/Money [3]. On average the government owes each one of them $871 and has a site you can visit to check the status of your refund [4]. You must have handy your social security number, your date of birth, and the exact amount of your refund. If you don’t like using the internet, you can call also 1-800-829-1040 to check on your refund.
