This kind of addresses in a way a question that I have. Let's say I contribute money starting this tax year (2006) and max it out and continue to max out every year from now on. Down the road if a need arises that I need the money I am fully aware that I can take out penalty free contribution dollars regardless of age or reason. However, I have searched and searched online and have completely struck out on this question; Can I redosit this money in the Roth IRA? Let's not confuse this question with a deposit made in the same year before tax due date because I know that is as if it was never made. Let's say no contribution for that year has been made so money taken out is from previous years. If yes, is there a time limit for putting money back in?

Thanks,
Paul Z.

Interesting, so if I put in $4000 in January, I have to not only remove the $4000 but also the 'earnings' of the $4000 in order to comply. That might be difficult to calculate.
