It is dubious legality, but there are tons of classics out there. A lot of times we think of older games as being less sophisticated than newer computer or console games, and in some ways they are (you had to fit all that data and graphics on a floppy disk after all), they really can be just as fun and engrossing as the latest PS3 title.

Hi - I haven't tried the DOS box yet, but when I tried clicking on some of the downloaded files it said there was a compatibility problem with 64-bit windows (I have windows 7). anyone know about anything like this?

I saw this post while searching for something else. Shame on you Bargainering.com -- this site was supposed to be about saving me money. I spent way too much time on some of these games growing up and even in to college. There's a reason i can never buy an X-box or any other game console.

I just wish that the copyright laws mandated the escrowing of source code and it's publication when the software is no longer supported (Windows 98 in the public Domain, anybody? :) )

Hey, thanks for the sites. I got Quest for Glory 1, both 1989 and 1992 versions, however they dont seem to work as it comes up with an error when i try to run it, saying "system does not support full screen mode, choose close to terminate" and i cant go further. any ideas what problem is?

Sigh... Star Control. Good stuff.

The last game I ever played was the first Quake. Played it, got nauseous from all the up and down movement, never played another computer game again. Weird, now that I think of it.

Interesting - first time for me to hear about this term, but not surprising since I don't play games anymore...but may have to try some of the old ones I did enjoy in my younger days.
