I thought you might be interested to know what some of your favorite personal finance bloggers had sitting on their shelves so I shot out an email to a bunch of them to find out. The list doesn’t just have their favorite personal finance books, it includes some of their fiction and non-fiction favorites as well in case you needed some ideas this holiday season.

I’ve been reading The Informed Investor by Frank Armstrong III, and its pretty good. I mean, its pretty boring, but it’s seriously a “hype free guide to consttructing a sound financial portfolio”
This is fun! I’m not going to do favorites right now, but this is what I’m currently reading (I have a habit of reading multiple books at one time):
PF: Debt-Free Living, by Mary Hunt
Fiction: Perdido Street Station, by China Mieville
Non-Fiction: Benjamin Franklin: An American Life, by Walter Isaacson
I’ve seen Mary Hunt’s Debt-Free Living listed as a “favorite” by a lot of people, including the bloggers I’ve talked to for the PFBlogger Spotlights… I might have to check that one out.
I think the fun in these types of posts is seeing the fiction and non-fiction choices of some bloggers…
My personal finance bible is the New Century Family Money Book by Jonathan Pond. It is written as a reference guide and is therefore very easy to pinpoint a particular topic of interest very quickly. My book was published in 1993 – I think it’s out of print now.

A Random Walk Down Wall Street is my favourite personal finance book. I am going to read The Richest Man in Babylon over the holidays. I recently posted some of my favourite investing / personal finance books.
I have too many favourites in other subjects: I like the Harry Potter series, The Lord of the Rings and I picked up the complete works of Shakespeare just the other day. I also like anything by P. G. Wodehouse (If I have to pick one it would be Full Moon).
