I have used Quicken for the last 12 years. Started with basic and now use premier because of it’s advanced features for investments. I track my credit card, IRS’s, 401K’s and bank accounts every day so I have an instant snap shot of our financial situation at any time. It’s really nice to have the ability to go back years to find a check that you wrote or any other financial transactions made. I download updated transaction information from the financial institutions we use which saves a whole lot of typing. You can search by multiple criteria and if you need to see every check you wrote to any payee, it’s easy to do. We’re currently using Quicken 2007 and are really happy with it’s features. I don’t know what has been added to Quicken 2009, but I’m sure from past experience that it will great. I love the program and would recommend it to anyone.

I’ve started using Quicken online and think I would benefit from a complete Quicken. I went online to order it, and if I’m remembering correctly did not because the version I wanted was not Mac compatible. Did I misunderstand?

I have used quicken for a long time maybe 10 years and upgraded and upgraded. But I will tell you that quicken can make you obsessive. I can tell you how much I spend in a year on gum. Quicken has expanded its software and to tell the truth I liked some of the old versions better. Sometimes bigger is not better. I do not have 2009 and I have to update. (I know from experience that quicken will stop supporting older versions). Thank you for your contest.

Definitely give Quicken Online a look, it’s absolutely free and like dipping your toe in the water.

I have been playing around with Quicken Online. I have found its tools to be very limited. It says it is up to date when it is not. It is confused by my odd check receiving schedule and stopped connecting with my checking account for a couple weeks and never regained that data, but it is fun to play with. Perhaps I should be more careful online? I figure since all of my accounts are on-line, I don’t see much difference having Quicken as well…

Great forum. Have been a long time reader. But never left a comment before. And slowly getting serious about savings, retirement etc. Quicken will help me lot achieve those goals. Thanks for the blog and the quicken giveaway.
