It’s almost summer and the kids will soon be out of school (if they aren’t already) so unless you have a lot of good ideas, you’re going to need to get creative. Did you know that some theaters have free (or really cheap) shows in the mornings? Selected G and PG movies, perfect for kids, are usually the ones shown for free and the promotions are geared towards families at these theaters:

  • Regal Cinemas [3] has free movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 A.M., check the site for availability in your area.
  • AMC Theaters [4] also has a Summer MovieCamp where they have a free movie every Wednesday at 10:30 at participating theaters starting June 21st.
  • CineMark [5] has a Summer Movie Clubhouse where you can enjoy 10 shows for $5 or get tickets a la carte for $1 a piece. Shows are at 10 A.M.
  • Crown Theatres [6] has their Children’s Film Festival where kids, parents and chaperones get in free. Their promotion page also details their good grade program. All A’s gets two free movie tickets, All A’s and B’s gets one free movie ticket, and all B’s scores you a free medium popcorn.
  • Dickinson Theatres [7] has a Summer Vacation Movie Series, a ten-week program where select G and PG rated movies are free.
