I hope you “enjoyed” this past Spring Cleaning Week. Nothing in the list is particularly fun but they’re all very important and very valuable to your finances, so if hopefully you can enjoy the fruits of your labor later on down the road!
For this Your Take, I wanted to know your goals for 2011. They don’t have to be money related, they can be anything related. For me, my big goal for the year is to be better at the infuriating sport known as golf. I started playing seriously last year and dropped my average from around 110 to the mid 90s with the help of two lessons, a ton of practice, and a lot of playing. At 110, I’d mis-hit the ball quite a bit (topping it most of the time) and it left me very frustrated. It, however, taught me a lot about dealing with frustration, adversity, and how to maintain my composure even through I was furious on the inside. I think that’s what I like most about golf, it’s teaching me patience and persistence and those qualities are far more valuable than being able to hit a dimpled white ball 300 yards. 🙂
Oh, and in the spirit of good SMART goal setting , I’d like for my average (I measure as my last five rounds) round score to move under 90 before the end of the year.
So what are your goals for the new year?
