This furniture looks perfect for a dorm room... inexpensive and a 5 yr warranty so you don't think it's cheap, not a bad deal.

I got a three-piece Ikea PAX Wardrobe for my investment condo off from craigslist. paid $150, close to new, with all the accessaries. If bought it from IKEA? shall be above $750. Much more options in craigslist - DC. You got great deals. but you need transportation (I asked a friend of mine who owned a van)

We discovered Home Reserve through a blogad right about the time we were looking for a cheap but sturdy couch to put in the kid's playroom. One of their purple couches really fit the bill -- it's pretty fun looking for the kids, was easy to put together, and is even fairly comfortable. [And in that room, the storage is actually useful.] Plus, it's cheap enough that we won't cry when they crayon all over it.

I had low to medium expectations, but I was pretty impressed.

Thanks for the link Karen! I'm a huge fan of hand-me-down furniture and scouring furniture off resources like Craigslist. Currently we have some couches and a bunch of chairs, all courtesy of my girlfriend's very generous mother and their overflowing basement.

But how many times do you see people bringing back couches from IKEA for school? Is the Swedish design engineering really worth the premium?
