BVC #8 – How to Start An Emergency Fund [VIDEO]

There are so many sites that are happy to give you strategies to get the most out of your emergency fund or how to best save for your emergency fund, but the simplest and quickest way to give yourself a cushion is revealed in this minute and a half video. (I must confess, it was on my mind because it was the topic of episode #2 of the Personal Finance Hour)
Don’t get paralyzed by so many options, just overcome inertia, start doing it right now with a simple step, and you’ll be closer to getting the protection you need than if you read another blog.
Once you’ve started, then you can start reading about CD laddering (video explanation) or determining how much to save into your emergency fund.

wow thank you
Jim, having an emergency fund is wonderful. It helps me sleep at night. I opened a savings account over at a bank separate from where I do my checking.
That way, when I log in to my checking to pay bills, I don’t see the fund. I don’t, not even for moment, think of it as being available for casual use. I like knowing it’s squirreled away.
I like the feel of your conversational videos. Nice job.
