Have you ever tried to call the IRS to ask a question? How about searched IRS.gov to find the answer to a particularly vexing question? If so, you’re one of millions of people to do so and many of them can’t find the answers they’re looking for. The tax preparation software packages from H&R Block and TurboTax are great for a lot of scenarios but sometimes you have something that doesn’t fit into a nice box and you want to get an answer from a professional, even if it’s just to assuage your fears.
Fortunately, the tax prep companies usually offer free tax advice throughout tax season and this Thursday, March 25th, H&R Block is offering a full day of free tax advice on their H&R Block Tax Talk Line. From rom 12:01 a.m. CT through 11:59 p.m. CT, 50 tax experts will be available to answer questions for free.
- Call 1-866-HRBLOCK

this is really cool. good for them. i have used h&r block the past 3 years and they have always been extremely helpful and friendly.
Wow, I bet they’ll be swamped but a good chance to build some goodwill and snag some future customers.
I recommend having your own tax accountant.
I emailed H&R Block at 1:00am CT but got the following message:
“Unfortunately, this email address is no longer being monitored. To have your tax questions answered please visit an H&R Block tax professional. To locate an office near you, visit http://www.hrblock.com and use the office locator. Or take advantage of H&R Block’s Digits Community at http://digits.hrblock.com.“
Probably because they got a million emails between midnight and 1 AM – overwhelming the 50 employees
I am not surprised that is what happened. That is just block pulling the bait and switch while trying to sound like they are ‘helping the community.’
Late on this but maybe I’ll try it out next year for giggles….unless they get swamped again.
