HSBC Direct CD Rates

HSBC Direct has been in the online bank business for many years, going back almost as far as ING Direct. They offer a very competitive online savings account and their CD rates are one of the best available. Much like other online banks, you can apply entirely online, there are no monthly fees and no minimums.

HSBC Direct is FDIC insured up to $250,000 under certificate #57890 and has been since 2004. As with any bank that I list on this site, I ensure that they are FDIC insured before I write about them. There’s no reason why you should be putting your savings in a non-FDIC insured bank.
