I try to point out situations like you described to my kids.  There are so many little ways people use to separate us from our money that one really does need an education.  

The trick about engaging the customer is done in particular on the end caps at home improvement stores.  They will have a display with the cordless drill that&#039;s on sale that you can pick up and play with -- even holes drilled in boards for a complete feel.  If you&#039;re not careful, you&#039;re walking out the door with $79.95 drill and the $5.49 faucet repair kit you actually came in for. :-)</description>
