ING Direct Financial Independence Days Sale 2012

ING Direct always offers a “sale” around the time of the 4th of July and despite being under new ownership, almost, they’re doing it again this year. I don’t know how they compare with last year’s promotion but this year’s offer looks pretty good, especially considering the rates you get on the accounts. The promotion started June 30th and ends July 3rd at midnight.
Here’s what each of the accounts offers:
- Electric Orange Checking: Open an account and make 5 purchases within 45 days to receive a $76 bonus deposited by August 22nd. Set up direct deposit and have two direct deposits of at least $250 by August 31st and get another $76 by Sept. 10th.
- Kids Savings Account: Get $17.76 for setting up a Kids Savings Account.
- Sharebuilder: Open a Sharebuilder account, deposit at least $3500, and receive $76.
- MONEY Account: This is an account for teens, so open an account and make 1 card transaction within 30 days to get $27.76.
There are more promotions but these are the most appealing ones. This promotion ends soon.

I wish they had some free sharebuilder trades with this promo, but not this time.
It would be good if ING would throw a bone to its current customers and offer CD rollover bonuses again like they often did a couple of years ago. As it is now, I am gradually moving money away from ING as CDs mature.
I wonder what Capital One will do next year..
