ING Direct Referral Link Extraction Instructions

Background: ING Direct offers a referral program where the current account holder gets $10 for each friend they sign up. The friend gets $25. The internet is full of people waiting to be your friend and many of them come to a page on this site. Now I’m putting the referral links from other people on that page and these are the instructions.

If I’ve asked you for ING Direct referrals and sent you here, please send me your referrals. If you somehow found this but I didn’t ask for you for referrals, shoot me an email first. The links have a 30 day time limit so I only keep a limited backlog of links on hand at any moment so if you send me an unsolicited link, I’m going to have to ignore it or run the risk of messing up the schedule.

If I’ve asked you for links and you don’t follow this, I’m not going to go through the emails and extract the links myself. I’m not trying to be a jerk but it takes a bit of time and can get confusing if I get a deluge of links.

Any catches? Nope. I don’t get or want anything, other than for you to send me the links rather than the emails directly. I get to offer a service that makes readers happy and I get to help friends make a little extra spending money.

Log into your account, send yourself the referrals, copy out the link URLs from the emails and paste them all into one email to me at .

Referral Link Extraction Detailed Instructions

1. Log into your ING Direct account,
2. Look for the orange megaphone located at the bottom of your account labeled “Earn $$$, Refer a Friend.” Click that,
3. You will see two types of accounts you can refer people for, click the Refer Now button next to the Orange Savings Account choice,
4. You’ll now see a list of your referrals, you can check back here to see the status of each. At the bottom, if you have any left, will be an Add New link. Click that,
5. This is the referral page, select one of your accounts from the drop down.
6. Then fill in any information you want for the first and last names, it won’t matter what it is,
7. Then enter your email address as the email address and hit the Continue button.
8. Do this five times.
9. Check your email, when the email arrives it will have all sorts of ING Direct information in it (the subject will be “Here’s $25 to get started on your savings!”). The email will have an “Apply now” (or “Open an account”) link, copy out that link by right clicking it and saving the link (or copy location, depending on what browser you are using).
10. Paste all the links into an email, each on an individual line, and send it to me at .
11. The links have a lifetime of 30 days, though links usually don’t last more than a week on the page, if they expire you can always resend them.
12. Wait.
