John T. Reed Real Estate Guru Ratings

A comment in my post about Kiyosaki’s “doomsday prediction” yesterday about John T. Reed’s real estate guru ratings reminded me how much I enjoyed this resource but hadn’t visited in quite some time. I did make mention of that in the comments but I felt it needed a brief post on its own.

Reed has been a real estate investor for over twenty years and publishes a newsletter and some other stuff but the most valuable thing on his website is the guru ratings linked to above. Reed sells books too and I’ve never bought one and I probably never will, but it’s fun to read the ratings he has on his list for all these shills on late night TV. You can always find out about the legal and financial woes of some of these self-proclaimed real estate moguls.

Curious to know his thoughts on Kiyosaki and his book? How about how he was sued by Russ Whitney? He doesn’t really have a high opinion of Robert Allen either. (if these names don’t look familiar, look up their pictures and you should recognize them from infomercials you channel-surf through, especially if you’re up late)

Give the guru ratings a read, they’re quite entertaining.

  1. He has a scathing piece on Kiyosaki. Like you said, highly entertaining.

  2. Read reviews of speakers you know. if you agree then you’ll know if you should bother reading the reviews of speakers you dont know.

I’ve read 3-4 of Jack’s books on real estate; and just one of his ideas has saved me $6,000 on each of our 7 rental houses. I was taught by my mentor that a book is your cheapest form of education. Jack’s books are not hard bound, they’re not fancy, and they’re not boring, just good information.
