I’m a huge fan of libraries! When I move to a new place, one of the FIRST things I do it get a library card. Most library get DVDs soon too, so you’re better off getting movies from there than Blockbuster or Netflix!

Also most libraries have access to the internet. In fact, in our county, the library will set you up with free dial-up if you don’t have internet access at home.

It’s also a great place to retreat to in the summer on hot days – free, comfortable air conditioning while you read. Beyond books and videos, I love the magazines and books on tape.

And through inter-library loan, you can request and read almost any book whether or not your local library carries it.

Many offer book clubs and other activities for patrons of all ages. Please remember that most libraries ban cell phone use now, and the old rule to speak in hushed tones still applies.

Libraries are a treasure.
