Doesn't it feel good to get "more" than you expected!?! I'll bet that the next time you need carpet, or a friend needs carpet, you'll use or mention M&S. That simple good dead of fixing the 4 by 4 patch is PRICELESS free advertising!!!

We had Empire come out to give a quote. They came in at $650 to carpet an EMPTY 10x12 room with berber carpet and a premium pad.

We went to Home Depot, picked out the carpet from far more choices and signed up for a quote. They came in at $300 for the same carpet and padding. However, they had to order the carpet, so the whole process took like 2 weeks, but on install day, they were in and out in about 45 minutes or less. So $2.50 per square foot.

Empire said they had a minimum charge of $600 to do carpeting as it's not "cost-effective" to come out for less. I have my wife to thank for steering us towards Home Depot. However, I monitored every bit of the installation as I don't trust contractors.
