Tax Reminder: Oct 17th Extended Tax Deadline Looming

This is your friendly annual reminder to the tax filing procrastinators out there that you have just one final week before you have to file your taxes. If you requested a tax filing extension earlier this year, it’s time to sit down and finally prepare those taxes. One warning though, this was just an extension of the filing date, your tax due was still due in April.

Many counties along the east coast received an extra two weeks due to Hurricane Irene. Affected taxpayers have until 10/31/11 to file their returns. Check out the IRS website http://www.irs.gov to see the list of affected counties.
