So true! I had a game party with lots of my friends for my birthday, and it was hysterical fun. It’s going to be a recurring event now–all potluck, too, to save more money.

Risk, without a doubt. I have entertained myself for hours playing it against 5 computer players. I still play an old EGA version from the late 80’s/early 90’s. It gets the job done. When I’m lucky enough to find people who’d like to play me, I break out my actual board.

I played Monopoly a lot as a high school/college student. Loved it. It’s just that my kids are too young now to be crushed by my take-over-the-world style.

Big Boggle. They don’t make it anymore–you have to buy it on eBay.

However, you don’t actually have to buy Boggle on eBay. Multiple computers on a network enables you and your friends to play Weboggle (http://weboggle.shackworks.com) over the Internet for free. You compete against each other and against players across the country. You can also play in team mode. I admit it is a little weird to be sitting next to someone on the couch, each with their own laptop, playing Boggle against each other over a distant server, but it is fun.

For games with an actual board, I like Scrabble and Settlers of Catan. Taboo and 25 Words or Less make good party games.

Trump would shill anything. Then again, so would I if I could. haha. I think my favorite game was Life because it was easy and fun (very little skill involved). You should see my girlfriend’s family’s stash of games… almost every game imaginable. It’s amazing…

Trump: the Game. Just kidding; I have that upstairs but I only played it once. Has anyone played The Apprentice Game? I was going to make a joke but there really is one.

My all-time favorite would probably be Risk; it’s involved enough to get pissed over but short and simple enough–I’m looking at you, Axis & Allies–to play when your fraternity’s on double-secret probation.

I just purchased Trivial Pursuit: SNL DVD Edition Game from Kmart.com for $7.50 plus free shipping (probably because I also bought a desk). It should be a lot of fun until I know all 450 questions.
