Warning: This has nothing to do with personal finance but it will probably improve your internet reading quality of life.
In reading random things on the web, in this case Jakob Nielsen’ site on web usability, I stumbled upon a little feature in Windows XP called ClearType [3]. This study by the University of Texas [4] about ClearType is worth reading, I enabled ClearType and it really does make everything easier to read.
To enable it (for Windows XP users), right click on the Desktop and select Properties. Then select the Appearance tab followed by the Effects button. Check the box next to Use the following method to smooth edges of font screens and select ClearType from the drop down box. The difference is amazing.
