John Maxwell is always an inspiring read. Leadership is a major topic for him. Another favorite is Failing Forward. Very important to learn.

Sounds like a worthwhile read . . . thinking and acting need to go hand-in-hand. Too many people spend too much time analyzing instead of starting and correcting.

This sounds like one to add to my library wish list. I'm trying to move up and out of my current position (and maybe even build my own business). I noticed the last time I started a business, it failed because I didn't think it would succeed. If I "think" more deliberately this time, I bet I'll have a better chance.

When I quit smoking cigarettes, the thing I missed most was the time of quiet reflection, the thinking time. I ultimately missed it so much I had to introduce snickers breaks or the like. It can be hard to motivate a few minutes of reflection without some kind of external force. Errr, for me at least.

Jim,
I have read a couple of John's books (he has about 1000) and while many of them seem to overlap a bit, I always leave them feeling pretty motivated.

It's not "what" successful people think, it's "how." :)

If the title was "how a successful person acts" I would like to read it, but the thinking part is just to much... Who knows what an another person thinks?
