Selling Travel Certificates on Ebay

Tipped off from a post at nickel about selling NWA travel certificates, I finally found a Northwest Airlines Discount Travel E-Cert in one of those Valpak packages and threw up an auction. Total time was about ten minutes (first auction is always longer) but it wasn’t as fruitful as Nickels sale - the auction ended at $11.09 which after all the fees will probably only be around $7 or $8. I’d do it for $20 but for $8… I don’t know (and am leaning towards no).

They probably do a bit better before the holidays, spring break, etc. But yeah, it’s not terribly rewarding (but you don’t have to ship anything). Also, they only allow you to sell one of each kind of travel certificate per calendar month.

I can’t believe that people actually buy those things. I usually just throw them out.
