If I'm traveling via Southwest and have to make a connecting flight to reach my final destination, I book two round trip flights; hence, I get double the rewards for the same trip. Typcially it costs a bit more, but in my case it's on the company's dollar. I'll either stockpile the tickets for a later date, or our company has a buy-back program due to the volume of our travel. It's kind of my way of sticking it to the man :) I travel weekly for the company I represent. In addition to getting points when I fly, I use the Southwest Visa as my primary (only) credit card. When you do this, you earn double for flights on Southwest that you use your SW Visa to purchase (i.e. a $150 flight counts as $300 towards your $1,200). In the past year I have flown round-trip from Chicago to L.A. three times on RR Awards tickets, saving me about $600! I wholeheartedly agree!
