Summer of Savings: $5 Live Nation Concert Lawn Tickets

Old Register: $5 KeyThe Citi Private Pass program lets Citi cardholders get access to music, sports, dining and other events. There are a few other credit card companies that offer this type of benefit, usually tied into their reward points system, but Citi’s Private Pass program is completely separate from their ThankYou Network. You can get access to the program by having a Citi credit card or a Citi bank account.

For July and August, Citi partnered with Live Nation for a Summer of Savings promotion where you can $5 Live Nation concert lawn tickets. Simply go to the landing page and search for a concert near you (or search through this link). The promotional code will be “CITI” plus the first two digits of your Citi card. My Citi mtvU card starts with 4128 so the code I’d use is CITI41.

I did a quick search and there were close to 680 shows, from now until October, offering $5 tickets. The search feature on LiveNation leaves a lot to be desired, at least for this promotion, but there are a lot of blink-182, Nickelback, Cruefest, Depeche Mode, etc. tickets.

The promotion is running from July 1st to August 31st.

  1. what is wrong with blink182?

Keep in mind that the final price might come to be significantly more than $5.00 due to fees. I looked at tickets to The Fray in Mountain View and they came out to $16.10 per ticket due to a $5.10 “Ticket Fee” and a $6.00 “Venue Fee.” At the time, they actually had other lawn tickets that were cheaper.

Thanks for the tip, I didn’t try to book any tickets because they weren’t doing any venues near me but that’s certainly good to know.
