Jim, I love how you periodically put the real reason we all save into perspective.

    • Jim says:

I read and write about personal finance all the time… **I** need to periodically put it in perspective for myself… and write about it. 🙂

Oh, that’s just wonderful! Thanks for the perspective adjustment 🙂

    Nicely done.

  5. It’s been said, but great post. I love the photos. A picture is truly worht many words.

  6. Keith says:

I have to echo the other comments, really great way to put things in perspective. It can be easy to forget why it is we work so hard or why we try to accumulate money.

    Thanks for the reminder. 🙂

A visual post on personal finance … very different but effective!
I have a cork board next to my desk where I post images to inspire me.
It’s called my dream board (yes, I read the Secret)
Kind of hoky, but I like to look up at it all the time – keeps me inspired.

You don’t get paid for this, do you?

    • Jim says:

I don’t get paid by a person or corporation directly but the site earns revenue through various forms of advertising, I’m not sure what you asking?

  15. gibble says:

    Great post Jim…absolutely excellent.

  16. Michele says:

This post is wonderful. It goes in line with what I tell people about working. There are two kinds of jobs… the ones you love, and the ones that give you the ability to do the things you love. I think most of us fall into the second category.

  17. Really well done. Bravo!

  18. Mrs. Micah says:

Amen. That’s also why we’re getting out of debt, etc. Not because it’s something we’re forced to do, but because we know it’ll make us happier to be free of that weighing us down.

  19. Patrick says:

    Love it, Jim. 🙂

  20. I just wanted to say that I have this post bookmarked, and probably come back to read it once every 2 weeks.

    It’s the perfect 30-second reality check. 🙂
