		<description>Very true. After being at a company for three years, secret number one is a hard lesson to learn, especially when you have more responsibility and duties than the new-hires. In my case, this information was supposed to be secret and they refused to compensate simply because I &#039;learned too much.&#039;

You should also be careful about secret number three. If you accept your current employer&#039;s counter offer, be prepared to be replaced--the employer now knows that your loyalty is low and they are paying more now than they were able to get away with before.</description>

I agree with you on Myth 3.  I worked for a company where this one person was crazy and would take everyone&#039;s work and try to do everything.  Although her methods weren&#039;t kosher, the bosses liked her and kept giving her raises to the point that she was making $10k-15k more with a BA and 2 years of experience than people with master&#039;s and 6 years of experience who were less liked although overall brought in more money.</description>
