For those of you who didn’t believe I bought a watch for ninety grand (even if it could deflect cruise missiles) or a sixteen hundred dollar ripped t-shirt, I salute you for recognizing it’s the first of April. For those who didn’t, if you exist, I apologize for so deftly deceiving you on the most frivolous of days. In return, I would like to assure you that I am not deceiving you right this moment. I have two keycodes to giveaway from our friends at TurboTax, one is a code for TurboTax Premier and one is a code for TurboTax Deluxe. The codes are redeemable at TurboTax.com and good for one free federal and a free state preparation plus e-file using TurboTax Online 2009.
How do you win? State your favorite tax deduction and why, plus which version you would like to win. TurboTax Deluxe will be the one you want for most people and Premier is the one that lets you handle investments and rental property. We will choose two winners next Tuesday and you will receive the code you mention.
Void where prohibited and good luck!

Mortgage interest for sure. I’d like the Deluxe Edition please. Thanks!
My favorite is deducting the cost of tax preparation software.
I’d like to win the Premier version! Thanks
I love deducting tuition and education expenses…makes shelling out the tuition for my husband’s medical school a little easier!
I’d love the Deluxe Edition. Thanks for the great giveaway!
There are reasons why we did not file early this year and the latest ever saying every year we will file the first week of February when all information comes in from employers and Forms R & D. Then to get early state funds for college filing the FAFSA after doing the federal & state tax returns to get better free grants, we find being the latest! Our situations for filing late are as follows this year:
1. I lost my job and had to search and still search ending up not able to get anything better than a $10 an hour job that isn’t sustaining us.
2. My wife has been ill and more effected by the economy hurting our family.
3. We needed our college student to do this for us not available as tax returns and computers intimidate me!
4. I had to move away from my teaching job I had for 2 years due to closed programs as an extra cost to our family.
5. I had to travel out of state as my costs for interviews being in the top 3 but di8dn’t get hired.
6. I knew this year my college student wouldn’t be eligible for my claiming the EITC.
7. Though I claim no dependents on my W-4, I had 2 jobs: i full-time and 1 part-time which enough taxes are not being withheld!
8. I’ve been worried how much federal tax I’ll have to pay as last year it was around $100 with 1 full time job and 1 part time job claiming zero deductions on my W-4 yearly.
9. I was use to receiving $3000 in state and federal taxes until last year when my state refund was less than $2000. I’m afraid what I’ll owe for federal and how much I’ll lose state this year.
WHOOPS: It seems that even claiming for moving expenses 2008 and job searching then wasn’t enough money spent to claim to get more refund money, so I have to say the standard deduction is the only thing when filing taxes that saves me! I have no idea what edition is best for me…age 62, no qualifying child this year for the EITC, and TOTAL INCOME 2010 is $58,000 working 2 jobs.
