Five Cent Nickel is turning two and is giving away a ton of stuff in his anniversary giveaway including an iPod nano (2GB), an iPod shuffle (1GB), a USB Microdrive (5GB), and a couple other goodies. You have stiff competition tough, over 300 people have signed up and surely more will before the contest ends. On the personal finance front, I found Nickel’s post with TIAA-CREF’s tips on making your IRA work harder for you to be useful.
JLP does some number crunches and discusses how long it takes to double, triple your money.
MBH discusses the merits of a GPS system – I think that if you’re one to get lost easily or have to drive in unfamiliar areas a lot, it’s a must. You save yourself money from a gas perspective, time, and headache – which is unquantifiable in dollar terms.
Flexo wants to help you murder your net worth. I can help you do that too, just send me some of your hard earned dollars and watch your net worth crumble!
FMF tackles a topic I know has made the rounds with my friends: is it better to switch jobs or stick one through your entire life? My perspective is that your job and your career should be like every other major decision in your life, you want to try out a few things to make sure you really like what you have. It’s like house hunting, you don’t know how good (or bad) you have it unless you have a basis for comparison. Another added benefit is that different jobs will increase the amount of experience you have, which is always a plus for an employer.
