Win Health Care on Less Than You Think

Let’s start off the new year right… with a giveaway! In mid-December I reviewed Health Care on less Than You Think by Fred Brock and the publicity group behind the book sent me some extra copies to give away. So, leave a comment before January 12th and you’ll be entered into the giveaway and I’ll select two commenter’s at random to send the book to.

This contest has ended and the winners have been notified, if they don’t respond within a week or so, I’ll draw a replacement name and contact them. Thanks for entering!

  1. Jim, when you write a book on blogging I’ll review it, and give away free copies on my blog. That way I’ll have something to blog about.

Your review is a glimpes of the complicated morass that our health care and insurance systems have developed. The pricing, billing, and administrative systems have gotten out of hand. A system where an individual can pay alot more for the same service as someone covered by a group just because they lack leverage. A system where the terms of insurance are complicated and difficult to understand and interpret even by those who work for the insurance company. A system that can double bill or over bill. A system where the providers have to deal with multiple insurance companies and provisions. (One company might cover one drug or treatment, another might cover another drug or treatment). Most of the time we aren’t affected, but when it really counts, when we get really sick, when we are least willing or able to advocate for ourselves, the system can be very diifficult. I’d love to read the book. Thanks

  6. I’m big on the preventative aspect of keeping health care costs low: exercising, healthy diet, not smoking, etc. But alas, even the healthiest of people still have to go the doctor on occasion. Sign me up for a free copy! Thanks
