Workers Implanted with ID Tags

Two employees of CitiWatcher.com, a video surveillance company, were implanted with slivers of silicon which can be used to identify them for access into some room that holds security video footage for government agencies and the police. VeriChip is the company that makes these glass-encased chips, implanted in the upper right arm, and they’ve been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, though they were originally designed for medical uses. What’s kind of surprising is that about seventy people have had these types of implants put into their body.

I wonder if “Must be receptive to receiving a glass-encased silicon identification rod in upper right arm” was listed on the job advertisement. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever been asked to do on the job?
