My boyfriend picked up my cat and me from Chicago and drove us back to the Cincinnati area where he lives. We stayed with him and his 75 lb. dog (oh yes...there were hijinx!) for a month. I saved up a bunch of PTO that had to be used before the end of the year. During that time we drove to Cleveland to visit his parents, and his brother and his family, for Christmas where we were promptly greeted by a tv news report that the beau of a family member was "Fugitive of the Week."

Did I mention that this was the first time I was meeting his family? Yeah, the fun didn't stop there, but I'll spare you the pearl-clutching details.

I went to Canada to see my parents! It was super cold and it's great to actually "live their life" for a week or so (we literally lived a retired life like they do). At lunch time, we were talking about dinner and when dinner time came, we asked "what's for lunch tomorrow".

I suspect that it would get dry after a while but doing it for a week was great! Christmas is always fun! :)

We flew to upstate NY (from DFW in TX) and spent the week planning our upcoming wedding and opening presents with my family, which turned into playing the Wii's we all got non-stop for 2 days. We flew back home the day after Christmas and worked all that week except new year's day, which we spent recovering from a party we went to at one of our neighbor's houses the night before... =)

Sounds like you had a great time! We spend Christmas and New Years home - just the two of us. We did take some mini trips right before Christmas and after New Years, but for the most part it was really peaceful.

It sounds like you had a nice time visiting with friends and family. Our Christmas holiday was peaceful, we stayed at home, grilled burgers and had a bonfire with our two adult sons (both still live at home - ages 19 and 21). We stayed up until midnight to see the new year in - popped popcorn and watched a $1 rental movie. I was lucky enough to be able to take six days off from my "day" job at Christmas and have a four day weekend at New Year's. Thanks for asking!
